December 14th was very busy for us. The Village Hall was open from 9.30 until 8.30 in the evening to allow village residents to see and comment on ideas for the refurbishment of the Market Place. The Landscape Architects, 2B, were there for much of the day, helping to explain some of the displays and responding to comments and enquiries. We were impressed with the level of engagement shown by so many visitors and the care taken in responding to the ideas using the feedback form or the online survey. We are now beginning to collate all the data – a substantial task!
Meanwhile, other helpers were manning the Cake Stall at the Barrow Meridian Rotary Christmas Fair. It was a merry event and people overcame the strong winds which buffeted us to sample the many delicious offerings. Many thanks to our helpers and to all of the Barrow Bakers.
Finally, there is a move afoot to have Humberside Airport renamed in honour of John Harrison! (See Scunthorpe Telegraph, January 2nd)
