The Mayor of North Lincolnshire, Cllr Trevor Foster officially opened the new John Harrison display in Holy Trinity Church, Barrow on the 26th February. We were pleased to note John himself looking on with approval… Many thanks to all who have made this possible: the Heritage Lottery Fund, of course; Frances Kelly, who worked with the children, the designer, Peter Cave, and MD Signs who have done an excellent job in creating the professional boards now available for all to see. Most of all of course, we thank the staff and children of John Harrison School, whose research formed the basis of the display and whose words and pictures appear in the lower set of boards. Thanks too to Holy Trinity Church for accommodating the work and rearranging the lighting so that the boards are easily illuminated. Don’t forget, there is additional information on Barrow’s history, which can be seen on the reverse of the boards above the pews.
