Harrison’s Garden – January 24th 2019

Harrison’s Garden is taking shape and the news about the John Harrison statue is all good.

The Garden, a Luke Jerram project that has been featured at three National Trust properties, is nearing the end of its national tour, after which Luke is generously donating it to Better Barrow.  He has also agreed to set it up at the Ropewalk, who have kindly given us exhibition space. So from January 24th there will be the opportunity to see the work of a world famous installation artist on our doorstep.

Harrison’s Garden features hundreds of clocks laid out like a garden and they will be ticking away the hours until the exhibition ends in March. And once it does, there is the chance to own one of these iconic timepieces.  The most valuable will be auctioned by Colin Young – of Bargain Hunt fame – while the remainder will be offered as mementos in return for a small donation.

Our thanks go to Golding Young and Mawer of Lincoln for their valuable advice and assistance.  All proceeds will go to the growing fund that will enable the John Harrison statue to be erected sometime next year.
